Qualifications:
Specialist Degree in General Surgery
Experience:
At least 3 years post specialization
Duties & Responsibilities:
All basic duties related to surgery in a busy District Hospital. The Officer should be able to work independently and his/her responsibilities will include among others:
Being in charge of the operating theatre unit and running a weekly specialist outpatient clinic
He/she shall be in charge of the services offered to general surgical patients in BLH
Participating in all general medical duties in Outpatient Department and Accident & Emergency. This includes full participation in call duties
Performing specialist surgical operations and is responsible for those surgical patients in the wards
Conducting in-service training for Hospital staff and other health professionals including junior doctors
