SENIOR MINE SURVEYOR Full-time Job

MP Mining is a mining company that owns Kopano Copper Mine, located in the North-Eastern part of Botswana off Mosetse and Dukwi Villages. The Company is currently looking for results-driven, agile, and suitably qualified individuals to fill the below position:

SENIOR MINE SURVEYOR

To plan, manage, coordinate, monitor, and maintain a Survey and evaluation service on the surface and underground according to government regulations and mine policy.

Key Performance Areas:

Carries legal responsibility for a section of a mine in accordance with the Mines, Quarries a Works and Machinery Act
Conducts monthly measurements of all mined areas of the Mine, waste dumps and stockpiles and reconciles total material moved in the various categories of Ore and Waste.
Indicates the risks or dangers at a mining location on a mine plan sheet
Updates site maps and mine plans for ongoing mine development
Comments, advises and checks on the feasibility of the mine layouts and workings
Creates mine plans to accurately represent surface and/or underground mining activities.
Conducts special survey projects as and when required by management e.g. possible underground, and implementation of computer models and programmes
Plans and budgets for all Survey services required for his area of responsibility e.g. labour equipment and material requirements
Take responsible care to protect their own safety and the safety of others who may be affected by any act or omission of that employee

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Surveying or related field
Work experience as a Surveyor or a similar position
Fifteen (15) years post qualification experience in a mining environment
Proficiency in Surveying Software- Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
