PROGRAMME LEADERS

In embarking on a transformational journey, BC is seeking exceptional leaders to become Programme Leaders for the Occupational Therapy and Speech & Language Therapy Programmes. The Programme Leaders will be required to provide strategic leadership by promoting academic excellence, creating life-long learning experiences for the students, and managing the impact on the community through both its educational offerings and its research initiatives.
The successful candidates will be expected to (i) ensure effective and efficient management of the programme, (ii) strengthen relationships with the public and private sectors, and in particular with professional bodies, (iii) facilitate learning for undergraduate students (iv) provide clinical supervision for learners during work integrated learning (v) supervise students research projects (vi) contribute to the college research output (vii) participate in all academic activities of the department (viii) serve on committees within the college and contribute to the growth of the profession.

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS REQUIRED:

Knowledge and experience in facilitation of learning. Ability to design teaching and learning resources for a variety of learning styles. Proven clinical experience and ability to teach pre-clinical skills and provide supervision during work-integrated learning. Demonstrate ability to supervise students’ research projects. The Candidates should have the ability to work with staff and students as well as community groups of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Occupational Therapy
Master’s Degree or PhD in Occupational Therapy
At least five (5) years of clinical experience
Teaching experience will be an added advantage

2. Speech & Language Therapy

Masters’s Degree or PhD in Speech & Language Therapy
At least five (5) years of clinical experience
Teaching experience will be an added advantage
