For Yalelo, learning is viewed as a strategic component of our overall strategic human capital development mission, which is overseen by our Learning & Development department which is currently looking for an interim Skills Development Trainer.

The Interim Skills Development Trainer will be based in the Copperbelt and assist in all aspects of training development and deployment for operational teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Interim Skills Development Trainer will be responsible for, amongst other things:


  • Mapping out training plans, designing, developing and facilitating training programs (outsourced or in- house) for the Copperbelt and Northern geographies.
  • Preparing training facilities and delivering training programs.
  • Using appropriate training methods or activities (simulations, mentoring, on the job training)
  • Evaluating and assessing training.
  • Using accepted education principles and tracking new training methods and techniques.
  • Designing and preparing educational aids and materials.
  • Assessing instructional effectiveness and summarizing evaluation reports determining the impact of training on employee skills and how it affects OKRs.
  • Maintaining an updated curriculum database and training records for respective region.
  • Managing and maintaining in-house training facilities and equipment.
  • Delivering feedback to managers and supervisors.
  • Compiling and managing training administration, schedules and training reports.
  • Developing, recommending, managing & maintaining training quality standards


Graduate or currently enrolled with an accredited institute having acquired or pursuing a qualification in Learning & Development or related subject matter(s).

Person Specification

  • Must be geographically mobile with valid drivers’ licence and own transportation
  • Based in Kitwe or Ndola
  • 12 months + work experience, inclusive of time spent wholly or considerably within the private sector
  • Good command of English and Bemba.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Dedicated team player who takes initiative, is detail oriented, organized and has proven ability to follow up tasks through to quality completion
  • Quick thinking and able to self-manage.
  • Comfortable working with internal and external parties
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office (including MS PowerPoint)
  • Self-starter who is able to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work Monday to Saturday
