FIRE AND EMERGENCY MARSHAL Full-time Job

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To protect the Company’s assets and human life from fire hazards

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responds to fire incidents and other emergency calls and provides fire fighting support services at the scene of the incidents to minimize property damage and causalities.
Conducts inspection of workplace areas and fire fighting equipment to ensure the readiness and maintainability of equipment in area of responsibility.
Conducts and implements evacuation drills and emergency simulations for designated areas/in Mine lease areas and advise on learnings
Compiles information on fire fighting equipment around the Mine to ensure up to date inventory
Plans and conducts training to Mines employees in order to build capacity and/or raise awareness.
Recharging of Fire extinguishers in line with legal requirements.
Drives and operates fire pumps and ambulances at start of shift or during emergencies
Implements a schedule of evacuation drills and emergency simulations for respective areas
Inspects fire breaks around the mine perimeter fence and other mine properties to ensure prevention of damage caused by wild fires.
Conducts tests and inspections on emergency equipment such as life support, fire, and rescue apparatus to ensure that they are in a functional state at all times.

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Adheres to all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures in the area of responsibility
Recommends and incorporates cost-saving initiatives into budgets

EDUCATION

O’ Levels or BGCSE or equivalent
Certificate in Firefighting

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of Three (3) years in fire fighting environment

LEGAL CERTIFICATION/PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION

Driving Licence – C
Driving Licence – EC
